Damien has been certified in Adjudication by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Damien has been involved in a number of adjudications in England and Wales and has more recently focused on adjudication in Ireland. Adjudication in Ireland became mandatory in 2016 following the introduction of statutory adjudication in payment disputes under construction contracts.
While adjudication in Ireland is very much in the early stages of development Damien, as a certified Adjudicator, with extensive experience of adjudication in England and Wales is in a unique position to act as an Adjudicator arising out of payment disputes under construction contracts in Ireland.
Damien is currently taking appointments as an Adjudicator in Ireland and is separately advising clients involved in adjudications. In the latter regard, Damien chose not to seek appointment to the government’s panel of adjudicators in order to avoid potential conflicts.
